Most of the "big brand" candle manufacturers, typically make their candles with either all paraffin wax - or a blend of paraffin wax and vegetable-based candle waxes. Other key differences, in our opinion, include a ban on the use of phthalates in any of our fragrance oils. Many experts believe phthalates are harmful and potentially toxic when burned. The "big brand" candle manufacturers typically won't ban the use of phthalates, as using fragrance oils without them adds cost to the materials used in making the candles.
Lastly, we take a clear stand on banning the use of any supplier, ingredient or product in our soy wax candles that use animal testing. Next time your shopping for candles, ask if they have a clear policy on the use of animal testing with their product and you'll be surprised.
